Comedy of Errors

Picture this:

A seven-and-a-half month pregnant lady sits down in a glider rocking chair similar to this one:

As she sits back in this glider, it rocks back. The centrifugal force of her extra body weight, tips the chair backwards. She tries to lean forward to prevent it from going over, but alas, it is no use. The whole chair topples backwards with her in it, leaving her legs dangling straight in the air, as her mother and sister laugh hysterically.

Her mother and sister then try to pull her up by her hands in the hopes that this will also right the chair. When this does not work, the pregnant woman rolls to her side to get up off the floor. But the fall wasn't the worst of it. Oh, no.

Here's a little anatomy lesson for ya. During pregnancy, the body produces a hormone called Relaxin. Relaxin is responsible for allowing your pelvis and hips to temporarily widen to allow the passage of a baby. Guess what else Relaxin relaxes? It vasodilates (increases the blood flow to) the kidneys. Also, the uterus is right next to the bladder. Then as your baby grows it presses on your bladder as well. This all adds up to a pregnant woman needing to pee more frequently, wake up in the middle of the night to pee, and even leak a little pee when sneezing. You can see where this is going, can't you?

The fall was not the most humiliating thing to happen. As the chair tipped over, the pregnant woman peed her pants. Not just a little. Full-on peed. In her pants. And the chair.

Oops.

  1. Laughing. So. Hard. Wiping tears from eyes. Feel so so guilty for laughing at pregnant friend.

    Karma's a bitch, right?

  2. Don't worry. I found it quite comical as well. That's why I posted it, for the enjoyment of others. :D
